We produce media. Modern medias like: film, video, Internet –
in other words all kind of moving pictures.
Before we refer to our high-end technique – which already
belongs to our equipment- we may call your attention to the essential
– to You. The human. The only reason why medias do exist is
to facilitate the communication between people. Language, fonts,
drawings and later the photography and radio are our traditional
communication methods. But have you ever put into question how these
methods fit to the people?
In order to communicate with other people, we human use all of
our sense organs. The eye is the most important one. Naturally the
eye is not defined to process characters or fixed-images. The human
eye sees coloured and steadily, the human eye sees extremely clear
even in twilight conditions. And above all the human sees its environment
in moving pictures.
The modern techniques of our time have only been successful in
assimilation of the moving picture as a part of our communication.
By means of television, video, DVD and more and more also the Internet
we deal with our environment.
If the moving picture have not had been playing an important role
regarding to the communication and terms of media in the recent
decades, this fact only was due to the technical possibilities.
There was no technique to implement moving pictures in manageable
medias. Neither there is no aesthetic nor cultural or causes of
content, which has justified the font, the drawing or the photography
as monopolies predominant technique.
Never before the moving pictures has had a more important role
– and this is only the beginning of a time, in which we communicating
can do for what we are best-suited in the context to our natural
pre-condition: seeing with our eyes. We just can call the future
the time of the moving pictures or the time of the seeing communication.
We just have called it “filmzeit”. And- because of the
fact that we are experts in order to produce these medias for this
time, we have called ourselves “filmzeit medien”.
